2.4.23 | Democrats Wanted Slavery, Began the KKK, And Opposed Civil Rights

Abraham Lincoln And The Republican Party Pass The Emancipation Proclamation, And Modern Day Democrats Live Up To Their Racist Past By Rewriting History.

More and more the label “RACIST” is hurled around, specifically coming from The Left, and falsely directed at The Right.

This term has become so overused, it has actually lost it’s meaning in many cases. Just this week, Ilhan Omar, who has made multiple comments against the Jewish People, was voted off the Foreign Affairs Committee because of her anti-Semitism. She has a Palestinian flag hanging outside her office, a map of the world with a post-it note covering Israel, and has repeatedly praised terrorist groups like Hamas or Al Qaeda. When Republicans voted her off the committee, her supporters on The Left cried “Racism!” However, they chose to ignore the reality of her comments. Rather than proving their point and showing evidence of racism, they just looked like a bunch of whiney brats that did not get their way. Remember 2 years ago, the Democrats voted against every single Republican on key committees, again baselessly accusing us of racism without any shred of evidence.

The push away from “Equality” in our country has shifted to a new word: “Equity”. There is no longer a color blind society as we had been working towards, but a society of “Anti-Racism,” where a person’s skin tone is the most important attribute about them. This is the opposite of a meritocracy, and in some cases, individuals are being promoted to powerful positions without any qualifications for the job. I believe in and fully support diversity, but if a company or government are actively segregating a portion of the population because they’ve predetermined the appearance they desire, this is not “equality,” this is not “equity,” in fact, this is the true racism of today.

In today’s installment, I am going to cover the extremely racist history of the Democratic Party, and how Republicans have been fighting this bigotry since day one. There is no excuse for racism in today’s society. Everyone, on both sides of the aisle, can agree it is completely unacceptable and must be called out at every opportunity. It is the false labeling and overuse of this word, however, that will diminish it’s meaning and ultimately render it useless if we are not careful.

In 1854, the Republican Party was formed to oppose the Kansas-Nebraska Act, which intended to spread slavery into American territory.

The Republican Party’s primary goal was the eradication of slavery, and it has been a champion of civil rights and equality ever since. It was the Republican Party that abolished slavery with the passage of the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution, and it was the Republican Party that passed the 14th and 15th Amendments which granted citizenship and voting rights to African Americans. Democrats, on the other hand, strongly opposed these measures. It was Republicans that were at the forefront of the effort to demolish the Confederate States of America (1861-65), striving for the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and the end of the institution of slavery.

Contrary to what many believe, the Civil War wasn’t North v. South. It was a Democrat-against-Republican battle.

The Republican Party stood for civil rights and freedom of all people, regardless of race or background. The Democratic Party wanted to keep humans enslaved, and wanted to keep their plantation economy strong with, what they saw as, free labor. Below is a Democratic Party war-time propaganda poster, attempting to recruit young southern Democrats to the Civil War effort with the goal of protecting slavery in the United States

The well-known Dred Scott decision deemed that Blacks were not citizens and could be treated as property.

In 1857 this decision was made by a Supreme Court majority of 7 Democratic justices in favor, and 2 Republican judges against. This was a clear indication of the two parties' stances on civil rights and racial equality.

On January 1, 1863, Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president, issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

The Proclamation was a major milestone in the Republican Party's commitment to end slavery and to ensure that all people had the right to freedom. The Proclamation marked a dramatic shift in the Civil War, as it changed the goal from restoring the Union to abolishing slavery. It also redistributed power from the southern states to the federal government and provided legal protection for slaves. With the Emancipation Proclamation, President Lincoln along with the Republican Party showed their true commitment to a more just and equitable society for all of its citizens.

After the Civil War ended on April 9, 1865, it was Southern Democrats who despised Black people that formed the Ku Klux Klan.

The KKK was a white supremacist organization consisting of majority Democrats that sought to maintain white supremacy by terrorizing and oppressing Black people, as well as other racial and religious minorities. White Republican militias and Union soldiers strived to eliminate the KKK and ensure that Black people were protected from the hate and violence of the Klan. Through their efforts, the KKK was driven underground and their influence waned. Today, Democrats use the fear of the KKK to rally against the Republican Party, but conveniently forget that it was their own party that formed this terrible hate group.

Jim Crow laws were enacted by Southern Democrat-dominated state legislatures in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

These laws promoted racial segregation and sought to undo the political and economic gains made by Black people in the Reconstruction era. These laws targeted Black Americans in a variety of ways, ranging from prohibiting them from voting or holding public office, to creating separate public facilities and denying them access to certain public services. The Republican Party opposed these laws, and sought to ensure that everyone had equal access to the same rights and opportunities.

In response, Republicans pushed for the passing of the Fourteenth Amendment in 1868, which granted citizenship to freed slaves and their descendants and prohibited states from denying any person due process and equal protection under the law. In addition, the Republican-controlled Congress passed several civil rights acts in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, including the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which granted all citizens the same rights to contract and own property, and the Civil Rights Act of 1875, which prohibited discrimination in public accommodations.

How many times have you heard Democrats evoke Jim Crow, by stating “This is Jim Crow 2.0”? They seem to have forgotten who supported and enacted what…

By 1900 more than 20 Black Republicans had served in Congress.

Democrats did not elect a single Black representative until 1935. Until 1979, every single black senator was a Republican, demonstrating the Party's commitment to civil rights and racial equality. The Republican Party was and continues to be devoted to ensuring that all citizens are treated fairly and given the same rights and opportunities, despite what modern-day Democrats want to tell you. The Democratic Party is still working hard to sow division by skin color, currently pushing ideals such as “Equity” over “Equality,” which many feel is racist in-and-of itself. Think back to Trump’s Presidency, when Title 9 was updated to include transgender individuals. The Republican majority is still working towards a more equal society.

Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower openly praised school desegregation.

In the Brown v. Board of Education verdict he sent the Arkansas National Guard to Little Rock to protect 9 black students after Democratic Governor Orval Faubus threatened them. He also won his election by gaining traction for the Republican Party, winning elections in Florida, Texas, Virginia, and Tennessee. Four years later, Eisenhower won a landslide win in Louisiana and Kentucky, indicating that the Republican Party was becoming increasingly popular in the South.

The Republican Party has a long history of fighting for civil rights and racial equality, and it continues to do so today, despite what Democrats and the media say.

Republicans are the only party to have fought for the abolition of slavery, to have passed the 13th Amendment and the 14th and 15th Amendments granting citizenship and voting rights to African Americans, and to have driven the Ku Klux Klan underground. From President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, to President Eisenhower's desegregation efforts, this party has shown its commitment to a just and equal society. Unfortunately, the Democratic Party is still sowing division and enforcing segregation through its push for "Equity" over "Equality," which many feel is a form of racism in itself.

We must not forget the Republican Party's history of fighting for civil rights and seek to ensure that all individuals are given the same rights and opportunities, regardless of their race or background. The color of someone’s skin should not dictate how they are treated, full stop. We must also push back on the superfluous use of the word “RACIST,” at every turn, which has primarily been adopted by the Democratic Party. Their overuse and scapegoating of this title will ultimately diminish the justified usage, and perhaps that is their ultimate goal - to rewrite history and continue to push racial segregation in modern-day society…
